Shenango II
Who am I?
Thanks to MikeM for identifying the ship as the Shenango II. The ship was built for the Shenango Furnace Company and launched in 1958. The ship was sold in 1967 and renamed the Charles M. Beeghly. On March 7, 2011 the ship, which still sails the Great Lakes today, was renamed the Hon. James L. Oberstar. If you would like to know more about the Shenango II, please click here.

Now this is a tough one. At first blush, that looks like a "P" on the stack which means its a Patterson boat. But the Patterson fleet, at least the "modern ones" like this one, did not have n entirely black hull and most of their later vessels in the fleet had the stern mast located behind the funnel, not foreward of it as this one does.
So I say it is NOT a Patterson boat, but what fleet did it belong to? What is that logo on the funnel?
Gonna have to sleep on this one.
Perhaps it belonged to one of the small steel company fleets; Jones & Laughlin, Hanna Furnace, National Steel, etc.
Maybe the Shenango II of the Shenango Furnace Co?

I have a couple of old photos of the Druckenmiller and the Shenango, both Shenango Furnace vessels. What is especially interesting about them is that they had green hulls. Not black or dark red, they were dark GREEN! Kinda like the old Wyandotte fleet.
