Helen Hindman (2)

Who am I?

Thanks to MikeM and The Rock for solving this Mystery Ship. The ship has been identified as the Helen Hindman. The ship was built in Aberdeen, Scotland in 1911 and is believed to have been scrapped in the 1980’s. Captain George Hindman founded what would become the Hindman Transportation Company in 1939. Almost all the ships in the fleet bore the name of a family member. This was the second ship with the Helen Hindman moniker.

Is that the Hindman Transportation insignia on the stack?

I think we are looking at the old Helen Hindman. Of the several different Hindman vessels, she had the most unusual profile.
Nothing personal, Helen.

For sure this is a Hindman boat and it would be the Helen Hindman name before my Grandma was married. Helen married Parker Evans and also had a boat named after her again with the Evans

Hi Evie. I knew Parker and Helen quite well as they were next door neighbors of my Grandparents back in Owen Sound. All the best.

It was also named the Charles R Randle Sr. after my great grandfather who sold 4 of his boats to George Hindman and became an employee as well.
